MADE IN JAPAN: HANA NO ATO [AFTER THE FLOWERS a.k.a. 花のあと]

For those who are into female samurais should watch out for Kenji Nakanishi’s HANA NO ATO, telling the story of a woman and her quest for love (and her love for sword duels). Based on Shuhei Fujisawa’s novel the film starts as a period film but changes its mood and pace until the life-and-death climax. Don’t expect your average manga adaptation though, but instead a solid work of art. Starts in cinemas in March.
