Greek mythology with a twist…does anyone care? A pretty flower boy as the protagonist thrown in to the mix of beautiful ladies and a wisecracking but annoying sidekick…I don’t think so. Fight scenes that were choreographed 5 minutes before the filming time…yeah right, that’ll work. Props and sets that were dug out of high-school drama classes, from 1985…give me a break. CG effects that were done on a laptop with applications that were downloaded from open-source geek sites…’fraid not.

Where did it all go wrong? Why didn’t Chris Columbus bring some of his experience from HARRY POTTER over to PERCY JACKSON? The script must have been paper-thin. There was hardly any character buildup – not a single person I understood or cared for. And if I spent any more time writing this, it would have added to the 90 minutes I had lost watching it. And, to know that there will be more of this audio-visual drivel coming out just makes the back of my throat scratchy.

But, Uma Thurman as Medusa…yes. And they killed her!
