The 4th ASIAN FILM AWARDS are over and the winners announced. Once again not too many surprises this year, and as usual the awards are rather “equally” spread across the participating Asian nations than one movie returning home with a plethora of accolades (we must not forget that this is Asia; there is no face to save in Hollywood anymore, just your own ass).
Best film is MOTHER, best director Lu Chuan for CITY OF LIFE AND DEATH. BODYGUARDS & ASSASSINS clearly got too many awards; PARADE, GOEMON and VENGEANCE not enough. Doesn’t depreciate their value though, while B & A won’t increase. Next time then. Up next: THE HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2010. We’ll be back.
